Genevra Walters, Ed.D.


Dr. Walters received her Bachelors and Master's Degree from University of Illinois-Chicago, and her Doctorate from Illinois State University. Currently, she is Superintendent at SPEED SEJA #802 (special education joint agreement school district) and has previously held positions as Director of Human Resources, Principal and Assistant Principal.

Genevra is a passionate and committed educator with a successful record of improving the educational environment for children and knows that her mission in life is to improve the education for children who are disenfranchised.  She has consulted on a number of organizational and instructional topics including, building leadership capacity, multi-tier systems of support, paraprofessional training, parent training, inclusive education and team building. 

She is co-author of a high demand resource entitled, "What Works for Special Education and At-Risk Learners" and is overseeing the implementation of the Common Core State Standards for special populations served in her district.
