Cheryl Swift

Cheryl Lundy Swift is founder and CEO of EduPower, an educational consulting and curriculum development firm. Cheryl is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she double majored in Sociology and Rhetoric & Communication Studies. She received a Masters of Education in Administration & Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she also started her doctoral studies in Educational Leadership.

Cheryl began her teaching career as a high school English Language Arts teacher.  Since her start over 18 years ago, she has taught many levels including college and has served in a variety of leadership and executive roles for various educational organizations including public schools, post-secondary institutions, and educational organizations.

She has designed and developed several award-winning English Language Arts and Math curriculum products to benefit thousands of students, teachers and parents across the country.  Cheryl is most proud of her work on EduPower’s PowerUp Reading and Math curriculum that serves children from Pre-K to 8th grade as well as her work on Handwriting Without Tears’ Pre-K Numbers & Math and Language & Literacy curriculum which received the 2012 AEP Distinguished Achievement award. 

Cheryl consults and presents on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, assessment, data driven instruction, classroom management, curriculum mapping, instructional coaching, creating and maintaining a culture of excellence, building parental and community relationships, leveraging technology, increasing rigor and engagement, Pre-K readiness and writing, improving comprehension skills, improving problem solving and critical thinking skills, and building vocabulary.

Cheryl is a dynamic teacher, presenter and motivational speaker.  Her passion for teaching and learning is contagious. Attendees leave her professional development sessions invigorated and armed with practical strategies they can implement right away.
